Bonaire diving offers a wealth of possibilities to scuba divers. Because of abundant shore diving, pristine reefs and two very good wreck dives the island of Bonaire boast some great Caribbean diving.

One thing that makes diving Bonaire so special is the islands great shore diving. Many divers will rent a car, load the trunk with tanks and go exploring. This is spontaneous diving at it's best. Divers just find a spot along the shore they like, strap on their scuba gear and hit the water. No long surface swims here. The reef starts just a short distance from the shore line.

The government of Bonaire passed their first reef conservation laws in 1961 and have been setting the standard for the protection of the marine environment in the Caribbean every since This is why Bonaire is considered by many to have some of the best Caribbean scuba diving.

There are four dives that you do not want to miss. The wrecks of the Hilma Hooker and the Red Slave and diving under the Town Pier at Kralendijk and Salt Pier on the other side of the island.
